Noida was developed under the Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, of Utter Pradesh, which finally came up as an integrated, structured, contemporary, industrial hub. The city is connected with Delhi with a properly planned road networks, highways, and the high-tech DND flyover that connects it to the different corners of the country. With well-planned sectors for residential and industrial facilities, the city is spread over 20316 hectares and one the few cities in the country that offers its residents the green and pollution free environ with all required infrastructure. Some of the matchless features that the city offers are safe and clean water, uninterrupted power supply, stable telecommunication network, well-planned smooth roads, land development, superb residential condones, and green and tranquil atmosphere. These make the city one of the most eminent integrated industrial cities of the world.
Noida is a near-utopian concept of an industrial town that is close to Delhi, the county’s capital, free from pollution, part of National Capital Region (NCR), and the largest industrial establishment in Asia. Noida, which is an acronym of New Ohkla Industrial Development Authority, is one of the largest planned Asian industrial city. Under the U.P. Industrial Area Development Act, the city was set up in 1976 with the aim of developing it as an integrated township that would offer an accord of human habitation and industrial operations.
Location
Noida is a part of National Capital Region and adjacent to Delhi. Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi, is just 14 km away from Noida. The distance is even less if you take the eight-lane 550 mt-long DND flyway across river Yamuna that connects Noida to Maharani Bagh in Delhi. This flyover has considerably reduced the time and expanses to commute between Noida and Delhi. Noida has all the advantages of Delhi minus the disadvantages. The city is consisting of 81 villages of the district Gautam Buddha Nagar and spread over approximately 20316 hectares of land.
The city area is encircled by the NH 24 in the north that runs between Noida and Gaziabad, river Hindon in the east, river Yamuna in the west, and the confluence of Yamuna and Hindon in the south. On the opposite side of Hindon lies the Greater Noida Industrial Area and across Yamuna are the states Delhi and Haryana.

With 25 overhead tanks, 90 tube-wells, 5 rainy wells, and an 850-km long pipeline network, Noida is self-sufficient in drinking water supply with a daily capacity of 2 Lakh KLD.
